The Unit operates on four key objectives; ensure effective implementation of Presidential directives and policies on investment, coordinate investigations of all investors related complaints and promote better collaboration amongst stakeholders in the investment sector and support an investor friendly dispute resolution environment.
189 investors have reported claims of corruption at the Unit. Col. Nakalema disclosed that marjority(96) are local investors and cited Unfavourable interest rates and loan repayment periods by financial institutions as well as unfair taxation policies by Uganda Revenue Authority(URA). Nakalema says the 96 local complaints were forwarded to different investigating agencies such as Inspectorate of Government and State House Anti-corruption Unit.
