The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) led a two year investigative documentary which has revealed evidence of numerous abuse, rape and torture of women by the late legendary Pastor Temitope Balogun Joshua globally known as TB Joshua.
The three-part documentary alleged sexual crimes committed for decades by TB Joshua, a preacher and founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN). The first segment has been released today the 8th of January and the world is shocked as more than 30 former members, disciples and workers of SCOAN disclosed rape, torture including illegal detention and forced abortions in SCOAN’s compound which houses more than 150 disciples worldwide.
TB Joshua who passed away on 5th June 2021 was literally worshiped by his followers for the numerous miracles he performed which unfortunately are alleged to be staged/fake dramatized miracles by eye witnesses. SCOAN which is located in Ikotun- Egbe, Lagos, Nigeria grew from a local evangelical church to multi-million dollar establishment with worshipers globally.
In 2019, 30th June, a lady identified as Ms Johnson, an author accused the preacher of rape and illegal detention as she had be captive for 14 years, an allegation which SCOAN and TB Joshua himself denied and urged the media to disregard calling Ms Johnson mentally unstable.
It is not the first time a prominent preacher/pastor is accused of sexual crimes. It’s important for believers to discern the right preachers and churches to be rooted in. the bible in Matthew 24 talks of the end time signs and false prophets/preachers is one of them. We have witnessed the growth of SCOAN but can we say we are certain of the power that backs it?
