Olive oil is as powerful on hair as the delicious foods and salads we enjoy. Its rich moisturizing properties make it ideal for our hair as it makes hair soft strong and very shinny. It’s very beneficial for dry thick hair, weighs down thicker hair. Processed hair like hair that’s been treated with relaxers, perms, or bleach always benefit from extra moisture but wait for about seventy two hours before applying the olive oil.
For relieving your hair from dandruff, massage olive oil in your hair, comb out dandruff flakes, leave oil in your hair and cover with shower cap for extra conditioning.
For split ends, the oil helps smooth the broken or burned end of your hair. Apply oil to the last two inches of the hair strands that are damaged.
How to use olive oil as a conditioner
If you are new to the product, use just a teaspoon or two for your first treatment. Heat the olive until it’s warm enough to make it easier to apply on the hair, comb your hair with a wide toothed comb before you shampoo the oil out, this will make combing and styling easy. The percentage of olive oil you need depends on how much moisture you want your hair to have.
Massage your hair with the oil for few minutes. You can also massage the scalp if you have dry scalp, for more effective conditioning, wrap your hair with a shower cap and let the oil sink on for about 15 to 20 minutes.
Shampoo rigorously and dry the hair. You may need to shampoo twice depending on how much oil you have applied.
Use once a week for better moisture.
