Rescue teams for the last two weeks have been searching tooth and nails rescuing people who were stuck under the rubble following a 7.8 Magnitute earthquake the struck Turkey and Syria.
Over 25.000 people were confirmed to have died due to the disaster with majority from Turkey.
Following the same sad tragedy. Among those who were missing includes the 31 year old Ghananian footballer Christian Atsu Twasam. Today it has been confirmed that his lifeless body was retrieved from his collapsed house barely two weeks after the incident.
“it is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to announce to all well wishers that sadly Christian Astu’s body was recovered this morning” reports indicated.
Christian Atsu Twasam was a Ghanaian professional footballer who previously played for Chelsea and Newcastle. He last played for Turkish Süper Lig club Hatayspor and the Ghana national team. He primarily played as a winger, although he was also deployed as an attacking midfielder before his demise.
