Internet was awashed with images of Paul Kagame’s third son Ian Kagame looking serious and guarding his father in one of the annual events attended by government dignitaries.
He appeared for the first time at the National Prayer Breakfast in Kigali on Sunday, dressed in a black suit and white shirt looking serious like a commando on duty.
Ian, a graduate of UK based Royal Military Academy joined the Rwandese elite guard barely four months after being commissioned as cadet in the Military Academy.
He now joined the elite Presidential Guard in the Rwanda Defence Forces (RDF) and a unit solely responsible to guard Rwanda’s president who doubles as his father, Paul Kagame & the state house family.
As no wind spreads over Uganda un-noticed, social media political analysts were quick to compare the young man with Uganda’s Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba. Many claimed the duo have been long time childhood friends with the former walking the footsteps of Uganda’s twitter weaver who fast rose to rank passing through similar Special Force Command.
Relatedly, Uganda Defense force (UPDF) is soon recruiting over 23,000 soldiers as stated by Defense Minister Vincent Sempijja. This could be your chance too, good luck!
