Formally known as Christ Reconciliation Ministries, Katallage has emerged as one tiny brightest star amidst the many deem stars into the sky. Speaking through it’s one year anniversary celebration on Sunday, Edson Muhaweimana, vision bearer assured the congregation that regardless of what, the ministry is here “to stay’’ with pre-determined purpose which include reconciling God’s children back to Him through various activities inclusive of Discipleship classes which are currently ongoing every Mondays.
Started as small group as 8 people, the church is having several projects ahead including starting a new Katallage branch at Entebbe Road and constructions as confirmed by the church administrator Joel Watongola.
While delivering his message during the church’s one year anniversary thanksgivings service on Sunday, he acknowledged the ups and downs of the one year flanked by a team of dedicated men & women of God.
Born in a little known village in a cold mountainous district of Kisoro located south-western part of Uganda, Muhaweimana as a little boy wouldn’t have thought that at one time he would play a biblical character of Samuel to tender and become a vision bearer mandated just as Moses of the current times to guide the “Israelites” on the current “wilderness” of immorality, despair, greed and many more human challenges unto the road heading to the promise land through Katallage Ministries, a tiny bright shining star in the religious sector of the nation. This manifested over 3 years ago & it came to manifest during the Covid Lockdown. This has however not come on a silver plate but rather with persecutions for the same cause too.
Pastor Edison was emotional to recall what the church went through in the past one year especially when he got remanded for days in Luzira on 6 counts all related to noise pollution.
He however was quick to credit his support team pastors, Happy Kibukaire and Vincent who kept naturing the sheep in his absence symbolizing Aaron’s crucial role as Moses went up Mt Sinai for 40 days, thank God this time round Katallage followers did not complain as Israelites did in Moses’ absence.
More joy was further tabled when Abraham, a web designer presented the church’s website & launched it, believers can now easily access all church activities as well as making donations for the growth of the church at the comforts of their residence on www.katallageminitries.org.
” Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Now we know that the answer is yes for Katallage.
“Twaala ekitiibwa byona bibyo” a worship song lead by a multi-talented Dorcus Mfitumukiza & her smartly dressed fellow worship team who seemed to have real mastered their assignment to the dot sent the church into spiritual realm before ushering in the preacher of the day. This was shortly followed by a thanksgiving hymn “see what the Lord has done for us ” as pastor Edson stepped on the pulpit.
The overjoyed man of God wouldn’t hesitate to throw the church in some relaxed dance with the popular Jamaican gospel theme song ” Have got my mind made up” by Donnie McClurkin before the summon.
This was beyond imaginative glory and the feelings was incomparable. The praise and worship team did wonderful job from the start to the end of the service, this drew a great picture of celebration and thanksgiving. At one time the entire congregation got up on their feet excitedly danced off their sorrows.
“Even though you are a lawyer or Chief Justice, be careful when dealing with the sons of God” he flagged off the sermon. “He who stated the good works in you is going to complete it, he further sunk deep into the scriptures.”
The day was climaxed with cake cutting as each congregant tasted a piece and returned home immersed with the word. Asked about the ministry after service, Frank Music 256, a local gospel artist could not hide his joy and says it feels amazing to associate with Katallage, a ministry with strong focus on teaching & guiding people to the Lord.
