Holy Communion is important for purification, not taking it as a ritual but with perfect understanding. Henceforth one has to examine themselves before taking it. It’s a culture for this Ministry always the first week of every new month to have ‘Personal Retreat.’ During this period guidance is given on self examination through prayer, meditation and fasting. Something which the Regional Overseer known by many believers as ‘Mama’ explained that it has worked for her and will work for believers if done with understanding.
Holiness according to Sister Grace Kahumuza is being righteous, growing in spirit, mind and character. She also clearly stated that believers owe to be Holy to be;
Identified as children of God
Grants access to God
Brings us in covenant with God
Serve God perfectly
Enables prayers to be answered
Holy Communion therefore is among the many solutions to a Holy life. When one takes Holy Communion, it eases the achievements of the solutions forwarded by Sister Grace as to living a Holy life such as;
Applying self examination
Being teachable- ability to learn
Building the fear of God
Engaging in personal spiritual growth
Pastor Benita went deeper to explore the aspects in taking Holy Communion for instance thanks giving, celebrating common union as Christ dwells in us and us in Him, 1Corr 10:16, Communion with each other as saints 1Corr10:17. True love bonds children of God together.
Therefore, if you gave your life to Christ, taking the Holy Communion will be a constant reminder that as a child of God, you must do things with conviction, for it ushers us from earth to eternity.
It is a path to self discipline.
