Morocco rubbished all hopes of the She Cranes in Africa Cup of Nations finals, beating Uganda 3-1 in Rabat on Tuesday to advance from Group A to the quarterfinals.
Coach Lutalo had returned with 4 changes from his first match that saw him suffer a defeat from Senegal but still this was not enough to turn tables for the East African young ladies.
The opponent lead ealier with a controversial penalty taken by the Tottenham player before a little later Uganda’s Sumaya Komutale equaliser to bring a little life unto the team. By end of the game more two more goals were scored against Uganda with Komutale sent off and penalty awarded.
Morocco join Senegal, who beat Burkina Faso earlier in the day, in the last eight of a tournament where the top two teams in the three first round groups, plus two best third placed finishers, all go through to the next round.
Both countries have a full haul of points from their opening two matches.
