Organisers of this year annual pilgrimage at Namugongo Catholic shrine were left stunned as they received an unanticipated 3 million pilgrims across the globe.
With this huge magnitude, security had to do it’s work the hard way by deploying their man power both on land, water and in the sky to ensure the safety of the day in both shrines.
But that wasn’t enough as the genius Kampala thieves too maneuvered their ways through and terrorised innocent pilgrims off their phones and personal belongings.
According to police, they did their best untill they were shocked that that thieves had taken on offertory collections in some points in both celebrations to which police confirmed arresting some.
“Please note that only authorized collectors with red bags are legitimate,” a cleric announced over the microphone. “We have unauthorized people collecting the offertory. Please note that our ushers are in red jackets.”
