The restructuring at the twitter headquarters at San Fransico, Carlifornia seem not to cease anytime from now. Several changes have been affected and more yet to be adjusted.
Among the changes includes twitter owner Elon Musk firing four Twitter managers who were previously on a “do not fire” list, per Platformer such as Esther Crawford who had worked for not more than 2 years for the company. It said their compensation packages included accelerated stock vesting, making them costly to fire.
Now twitter has ripped off several global celebrities’ blue ticks that previously was seen as a sign of fame and huge official followings.
The social site began to remove the blue checks from accounts that don’t pay a monthly fee to keep them on Thursday. Previously with over 300,000 verified users under the original blue-check system, many of them journalists, athletes, and public figures, quite several celebrities have been left tickles just like an ordinary Ugandan down in Nansana with a smart phone selling matooke!
This mass action is forcing accounts to find new and better ways to prove authenticity of individual accounts from “fake” ones.
Only few individuals have been left with blue tick labels such as America’s gothic writers Stephen King the novelist author of The Haunting of the Hill House, singer Akon,
Among public figures ripped off blue ticks includes UK based news hub BBC, pop singer Beyonce, the prince & princes of Wales, Hillary Clinton & Jermy Clackson. Whereas locally in Uganda those affected includes pencil-thin Sheilah Gashumba, Spice Diana, Big Size Bebe Cool, BET Award winner Eddy Kenzo, NTV Mwasuze Mutya host Faridah Nakazibwe, the Wuyo vocal singer A-Pass & most of NBS After 5 hosts.
This new development has left most fame yearning social users panting and scratching their heads.
