Makerere University gears up for yet another stiff Guild Presidential competition. The Nakawa based Business hub has over the period had successful elections with few instances of violence compared to her nearby universities such as Makerere University, Kyambogo, Kampala International University among others. The University had earlier on releases electoral road map that sees all these political activities end by the 3rd day of May.
The incumbent outgoing president Bruno Kamoga was declared victorious after a narrow row with Uganda Young Democrat’s Shamoodah Nabwaaga.
Following yesterdays’ guild presidential nominations, businesses within and around the Campus was put on a stand still following huge volume of campaigns from different political allies.
Charity Kevin Lenia, the National Unity Platform (NUP) flag bearer will have to answer series of questions on how she intends to improve the current Kamooga’s government that she has been part of, serving in several capacities until the peak as Deputy Guild president. The humorous “girl-power” has already visited NUP party president to seek guidance to be the 2nd MUBS female Guild President after Pasquin Acak.
On the other side of the table, the power “hungry” Uganda Young Democrats (UYD), a youth faction of Nobert Mao’s Democratic Party must have learnt a couple of areas from the last election to which it lost to NUP. The green party has fronted Wasswa Christopher “ladies’ charm” to bring back the lost glory. With a lot of history to benchmark from, Christopher will have to fight hard to register his name among several previous UYD MUBS’ Guild Presidents such as (HE) Don Patrick Bujingo, Awori Emmanuel, Ntende Julius etc.
In the Blue Corner, there exists Akandwanaho Brinton who is muscling it out under the Forum For Democratic Change FDC ticket. With limited statistical history for reference in MUBS Guild. He will have to narrow and overwrite the former FDC Guild president “JOJO”’s failures and promise sunshine of Dr Kizza Besigye’s party in the Nakawa Bases institution.
Others on the race include “the yellow man” from National Resistance Movement NRM, Maiso Marvin alias Kwasa Kwasa who is yet to find his way our into the political jungles of MUBS and write and pen history into Africa’s best business university.
As always, the Campusa Magazine has pitched series of correspondences with all these contestants to give you real time updates o the campaign trail including exclusive interviews with these massive guild candidates.
