Following pressure from the Qatari royals, FIFA has today confirmed that there will be no sale of Alcohol around and within stadiums. Fans are encouraged to enjoy beer services in restaurants and hotels. Much us the fans are furious, beer companies such as Budweiser is more disappointed! The American beer company is a sponsor of World Cup 2022 Qatar with a whooping $75million.
This comes days before the tournament kick-start on Sunday 20th November. The World Cup Qatar is expected between Nov 20th to 18th December 2022 with the first opening match between Host team Qatar and Ecuador at the Al Bayt stadium.
Note that Senegal and Netherlands was to open but it was humane that the Host Kick-start.
With all 32 teams having forwarded their 26 players officially to FIFA officials, the world is yet to witness the Trophie Bearer. It’s important to note that France who won the 2018 World Cup in Russia against Croatia will play their first game against Australia on Tuesday 22nd November at the Al Janoub Stadium.
