Uganda National Examination Board today kick-started UCE Examinations what’s known by many as Senior four examinations in several schools across the country.
It is indeed great that the Presidential directive didn’t affect schools as many stipulated. However, for those in Mubende and Kassanda Districts, it’s rather sad though necessary as transportation for many scholars was cut off as per Saturday’s partial lockdown within the districts.
Schools in Kampala had smooth beginnings a case in point Bishop Cipriano Kihangire Senior Secondary School which we visited early morning. Adherence to UNEB guidelines was on ground but also Covid-19 and Ebola SOPs in place.
Unlike the past two years where scholars were overwhelmed with the trauma of Covid-19, 2022 is different and relaxed. Scholars who had given birth through the term too allowed to sit examinations as per new directive from Ministry of Education. In the coming weeks we expect UACE to equally kick-start as scheduled.
