Since the outbreak of Ebola weeks ago, yet again President Museveni has so far for the third time issued guidelines on the Ebola with the recent on Saturday 15th October 2022. Ebola victims from districts of Mubende, Kassanda have spread through out the country escaping from hospitals and creating increasing infections rate which has prompted the President guided by Ministry of health to issue a partial lockdown.
No cross border movements from affected Districts to other Districts
No cross border movements between Mubende and Kassanda
Curfew from 7pm to 6am within Mubende and Kassanda Districts
No public and Private vehicles movements within Kassanda and Mubende
Transit vehicles passing through the two Districts allowed
Cargo tracks allowed but with one tan boy
No stopovers in two Districts less you spend 21 days there
Seasonal Markets are suspended
Schools remain open. Temperature to be monitored
School absence to be reported by response team
Teachers and non teaching staff with contacts with infected persons not leave schools
Places of worship closed
Bars. Saunas closed
Burials to be conducted by health teams
Government is urged to enforce the guidelines above including hand washing in public places. Many citizens residing in the Districts are encouraged to follow the guidelines just like during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Ebola is preventable but we have to devise collective responsibility.
