opening ceremonies of the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham yesterday late night, there was another historical show on NBS Television, one Uganda’s leading local television channel.
The show was cut short before it could end as Mr Ofwondo Opondo, the Government Spokesperson failed to maintained his temper, jumped out of his comfortable seat and started assaulting another guest live on air, thanks to the quick producers who responded asap and switched off the show off air, leaving viewers wondering what happened next as the attacker’s hands were seen furiously pointing at the Lord Mayor as the other slides down his waist were most big shots keep short hand guns! Minister Chris intervened to save the situation from going worse!
“Shut up!… I can push you out of here Lukwago” Opondo angrily stated before losing his calm and juping up his seat towards Lukwago
The show has received several social media feedbacks from the public. NBS Frontline is a lead political talk show talk show of the television which runs every Thursday after 9pm news moderated by a renown political talk show host Charles Mwanguhya who replaced Joseph Sabiti of recent.
Yesterday’s frontliners were Minister Chris Baryomusi, Hon Winnie Kizza, Ofwondo Opondo and Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago. The argument stemmed from the discussion of NRM victory in the Soroti City East ByElections where most opposition leaders have called it undemocratic full of impunity and intimidation.
Hon Lukwago is among the few politicians well know for confidently throwing words on his fellow debaters without fear and has always criticized the NRM Government ever since before and after crossing over from DP to FDC. In November 2021 during the same NBS Frontline, he openly to Minister for Security Jim Muhwezi that he a terrorist “You are a terrorist , you were a terrorist when you were in the bush. You were busy terrorizing people. Why were you not shot at?” he asked Hon Jim Muhwezi after the sprees of shootings in the streets of Kampala by security that left several people in cold blood.
