It has been be a two day exceptional tournament with exemplary African Rugby players showcasing their intrinsic skills on the Uganda soil. Uganda’s national team Rugby Cranes dumped Kenya’s national team the Simbas 22:12 to automatically clinch a spot in the upcoming Rugby World Cup SEVENS South Africa 2022.
Uganda and zimbabwe qualified for the rugby World Cup after beating Kenya and Zambia respectively in the just concluded Rugby Africa 7s World Cup Qualifiers in the Kyadondo Rugby Ground in Ugandan Capital Kampala.
The huge men braved the early morning heavy downpour in Kampala to hedge victorious beating Kenya 22:12 tries in the East African Affairs. Coach Tolbert Onyango’s Phillip Wokorach, Micahel Wokorach and Afwoyorwoth were some of the most instrumental in the two day’s tournament.
Rugby Cranes started kickstarted her campaign at home early saturday morning against Burundi in round one.
Meanwhile in the South African affairs Zimbabwe were not merciless enough thumping Zambia to walk through to the international event in later on in the year.
Madagascar and Tunisia later on faced off each other in the Francophone affairs with Madagascar beating Tunisia in the vividly smily weather.
Huge supporters turned up for the two day event quenching their throats with some cold chilly cans of Nile Special. Not even the first son’s birthday celebration nor the rain could discourage the turnup of fan.
Both Zimbabwe and Kenya equally qualified for the World Cup Seven as Rugby Africa Men’s Sevens 2022 runner up.
We wish the lady team also success for the same tournament taking place in Jammel,Tunisa from 29th to 30th April.
Unlike the Kampala event that has 14 countries competing, the female tournament will have only 9 countries which are Uganda, South Africa, Tunisia, Ghana, Kenya, Senegal, Zimbabwe, Madagascar and Zambia.
