British monarch Queen Elizabeth has contacted the deadly virus.
The Palace’s mouth-piece said the Queen is experiencing mild cold-like symptoms of the China originated infection but quick to make it clear that she will continue her light duties at Windsor in the next week.
The 95 year old will continue receiving medical attention while following the appropriate guidelines as directed.
It was confirmed she had been in direct contact with her eldest son and heir, the Prince of Wales, the week he had the disease.
The announcement on Sunday was made only a few weeks after the Queen reached her platinum jubilee of 70 years on the throne on 6 February.
On 27th March 2020 the queen’s prime minister too, Boris Johnson tested positive for novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
The British leader, 55, shared his diagnosis on Twitter, writing that he noticed symptoms in the past day.
“Over the last 24 hours I have developed mild symptoms and tested positive for coronavirus,” Johnson tweeted. “I am now self-isolating, but I will continue to lead the government’s response via video-conference as we fight this virus. Together we will beat this. #StayHomeSaveLives”
