Congratulations to all graduands of Kyambogo University amidst their excellence in academics amidst harsh economic situations. Vice Chancellor Prof. Eli Katunguka complimented parents and guardians upon their commitment in supporting students despite economic recessions. He further credited the graduands on discipline as he claims they are the preferred choice by employers throughout the country.
The three-day ceremony that started today Wednesday and expected to run until Friday will graduate over 12,000 students with acknowledgement of three best students through the branches. After two years closure indeed, the University is committed to work with government in education recovery and institutional growth. The University Council applauds government for increment on staff salaries especially during the Covid-19 season that enabled smooth institutional running. However, requests more financial support to aid infrastructural development like roads, hall renovations and construction of learning centres. Stake holders are encouraged to fund activities as well as enable more staffing as only 30% of Human Resource is currently employed Leaving 70%vacant positions.
Hon. John. C. Muyingo the state minister for Higher Education encourages graduands to expand and improve their knowledge and skills further for better placements as he acknowledges the capacity building of the University.
Earlier on, the Minister unveiled 625 learners are to benefit from student loan schemes in the coming academic year throughout all Universities and Higher institutions of learning. This program has graduated many students in the past though parents encourage the government to increase the number of students.
